Smart motion sensor – what is it?

A motion sensor is a device that detects a temperature similar to that of the human body. This smart device detects movement, to which it reacts according to the user’s settings. After adding the device to the free Keemple 2.0 app, it is possible to create a scenario tailored to the user’s needs. By connecting the motion sensor with other devices in the Keemple 2.0 app, when activated it can switch on the lights in the selected room, close the blinds or send a notification to our phone informing us of the detected activity. It is a battery-operated device that is installed non-invasively in a selected part of the house; thanks to the mobile head, it is possible to easily position the sensor at a suitable angle.

Motion sensor as part of the Keemple system

Once the device has been added to the Keemple 2.0 app, it is possible, based on the sensor readings, to create an operating scenario with other Keemple devices. When connected in a scenario together with smart switches, it allows the user to automate lighting. This type of solution will increase both your comfort and convenience at home. This element of the system will also allow you to better manage the energy consumption in your home. Therefore, together with appropriately programmed scenarios, you have a real impact on reducing your expenses.

Motion sensor – operation

The motion sensor must be added to the free Keemple 2.0 application installed on your mobile device. By connecting the device to the gateway, the users are able to programme specific actions that suit their preferences. Such connections and dependencies stored in the application are called scenarios. They allow users to tailor the device to their needs. The sensor communicates with other devices wirelessly via the Z-Wave network. As such, it only sends signals at specific time intervals or in response to the occurrence of a specific event. As a result, they remain in standby mode the rest of the time, minimising energy consumption. This ensures a longer battery life compared to devices running on Wi-Fi. Z-Wave technology also provides security through encryption.

The camera can be added to the Keemple KP-GW-07 gateway and can be used to its full potential using the Keemple 2.0 app.

The Keemple 2.0 app is available for free to owners of Android and iOS smartphones.

The app is available on Android devices (Android 9 and above) and iOS devices (iOS 11.0 and above).
