The Keemple flood detector communicates with the Keemple gateway via the Z-Wave protocol. In this way, the devices are optimised for energy saving, allowing the batteries to last for a long time. In addition, the Z-Wave network operates on radio waves, eliminating the need to run special cables to the devices. This further increases the mobility of the flood detector and allows for it to be placed in a convenient location.
