The smart dimmer in the home can be used in many different situations to adapt the lighting level to the users’ current needs and preferences. Once the device has been added to the Keemple 2.0 app, it is possible to operate the dimmer remotely and create multiple scenarios. The smart dimmer allows smooth adjustment of the light brightness. This allows the user to create the right mood in the room for, e.g.,a romantic dinner, a movie night or a relaxing moment with a book. For office work or study, dimmers can help to adjust the lighting to conditions that support concentration and productivity. To ensure subtle night lighting without blinding the eyes, let’s reduce the light intensity during the evening hours.

Dimmer – how does it work?

Using the Keemple 2.0 app or manually, you can change the lighting intensity in the room of your choice. You can also set a schedule for the smart dimmer. This will ensure that the lighting dims or brightens at times of your choosing. Our smart dimmers communicate via a Z-Wave network. Z-Wave devices consume very little energy in standby mode. When the device is not actively being used for data transmission, it goes into a low-power state, which allows for lower power consumption than dimmers that operate on a Wi-Fi network.

Use the full light output only when you really need it. This can extend the service life of bulbs and other light sources. The bottom line is that smart home light dimmers give you more control over ambience, comfort and energy efficiency in a variety of situations.

The dimmer can be added to the Keemple KP-GW-07 Gateway and can be used to its full potential using the Keemple 2.0 app.
